Berry French Toast Casserole (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 1 loaf day-old bread (brioche, challah, or French bread), cubed
02 - 2 cups mixed berries (blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, or strawberries)
03 - 6 large eggs
04 - 2 cups milk (whole or 2%)
05 - ½ cup heavy cream
06 - ½ cup granulated sugar
07 - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
08 - ½ teaspoon cinnamon

→ Topping

09 - ¼ cup granulated sugar
10 - ¼ cup all-purpose flour
11 - ¼ cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
12 - ½ teaspoon cinnamon

→ Optional Garnishes

13 - Powdered sugar
14 - Maple syrup

# Instructions:

01 - Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish. Arrange the bread cubes evenly in the dish and sprinkle mixed berries on top.
02 - In a large mixing bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, heavy cream, sugar, vanilla extract, and cinnamon.
03 - Pour the custard mixture evenly over the bread and berries. Make sure all bread pieces are soaked. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight.
04 - In a small bowl, mix sugar, flour, cinnamon, and cold butter. Use a fork or pastry cutter to blend until the mixture becomes crumbly.
05 - Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Sprinkle the crumble topping over the casserole. Bake for 45–50 minutes or until the top is golden brown and the custard is fully set.
06 - Let the casserole cool for 5 minutes. Dust with powdered sugar or drizzle with maple syrup before serving.
