Slice off the top quarter of the apples and scoop out cores.

Using a paring knife, make a deep cut around the center of each apple.

Flip over apples and make narrow cuts all around, ensuring not to cut through the bottom. Stir together melted butter and cinnamon-sugar in a bowl. Brush the apples all over with the mixture, then fill the center with caramel and pecans.
