# Ingredients:

01 - 2 cups peeled peaches, thawed and drained if frozen
02 - 1/4 cup butter
03 - 1/2 cup flour
04 - 1 cup sugar, divided
05 - 1 teaspoon baking powder
06 - 1/4 teaspoon salt
07 - 1/3 cup milk
08 - 1 egg
09 - 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
10 - 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
11 - 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
12 - 1/4 cup brown sugar
13 - Ice cream for serving (optional)

# Instructions:

01 - Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Place butter in a 9-inch glass dish and put it in the oven until melted.
02 - In a large bowl, combine flour, 2/3 cup sugar, baking powder, and salt. Add milk and egg, then stir until smooth. Pour batter over melted butter in the glass dish without stirring.
03 - In a separate bowl, mix peaches, 1/3 cup sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Spoon the peach mixture gently over the batter. Do not stir.
04 - Sprinkle brown sugar evenly over the peaches and batter.
05 - Bake in the oven for 40-45 minutes or until the top is golden brown. Broil for a few minutes for extra crispness, watching closely to prevent burning.
06 - Serve warm with vanilla ice cream if desired.
