In a large bowl, combine flour, 2/3 cup sugar, baking powder, and salt. Add milk and egg, then stir until smooth. Pour batter over melted butter in the glass dish without stirring.

In a separate bowl, mix peaches, 1/3 cup sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Spoon the peach mixture gently over the batter. Do not stir.

Sprinkle brown sugar evenly over the peaches and batter.
