Secretly Healthy Zucchini Brownies (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Brownie Ingredients

01 - 2 cups finely grated zucchini, firmly packed
02 - 1 cup brown sugar
03 - 1 1/3 cups unsweetened applesauce
04 - 2 eggs
05 - 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
06 - 2/3 cup oat flour or all-purpose flour
07 - 1 cup cocoa powder
08 - 2 teaspoons baking soda
09 - 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
10 - 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
11 - 1/2 teaspoon salt

→ Optional Add-ins

12 - 1 cup chocolate chips
13 - 1 cup nuts

→ Optional Frosting

14 - 1/2 cup chocolate chips
15 - 1/2 cup butterscotch chips
16 - 1/2 cup peanut butter
17 - Nutella (as an alternative spread)

# Instructions:

01 - Preheat the oven to 350ºF. Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.
02 - In a bowl, mix together the grated zucchini, brown sugar, applesauce, eggs, and vanilla extract.
03 - In a separate bowl, stir together the oat flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.
04 - Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients and stir until just combined.
05 - Gently fold in the chocolate chips and/or nuts, if using.
06 - Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for approximately 55 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
07 - If desired, melt together the chocolate chips, butterscotch chips, and peanut butter for frosting, or spread Nutella on top of the cooled brownies.
