Slow Cooker Beef and Broccoli (Print Version)

01 - 1.5 pounds beef chuck roast, boneless, sliced into thin strips
02 - 1 cup beef consomme or beef broth
03 - 0.5 cup low sodium soy sauce
04 - 0.33 cup dark brown sugar
05 - 1 tablespoon sesame oil
06 - 3 cloves garlic, minced
07 - 2 tablespoons cornstarch
08 - 3 cups frozen broccoli florets (approximately 14 oz bag)

# Instructions:

01 - In a bowl, whisk together beef consomme, soy sauce, dark brown sugar, sesame oil, and minced garlic.
02 - Place beef strips into the slow cooker and pour the sauce mixture over them, tossing to evenly coat.
03 - Turn the slow cooker to low and cook for about 6 hours, or until the beef is tender but not shredding.
04 - One hour before the cooking time ends, whisk 0.25 cup of the sauce from the slow cooker with cornstarch in a separate bowl. Slowly stir this mixture back into the slow cooker.
05 - Add the broccoli to the slow cooker in the last 30 minutes of cooking and allow it to cook through.
06 - Serve the beef and broccoli over white rice and enjoy.
